Minutes of Regular Board Meeting
November 1, 2023
Board Members Present: Chairperson Gerald Schram, Supervisors Neal Sundet and Kyle Vareberg
Officers Present: Clerk, Dawn Utke; Treasurer, Becky Renner and ARPA Manager Deb

Others Present: Dan Gustner, Dale Renner, Tim & Amy Nelson, and Lee & Kristina Carlson.
Chairperson Schram called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Agenda was approved, Supervisor Vareberg made a motion to approve, Supervisor Sundet second, motion carried.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
October 3rd minutes were approved, Supervisor Sundet made a motion, Supervisor Vareberg second and motion carried.
Treasurer Renner gave the Treasure’s report ending in October 31, 2023 with an ending balance in the checking account of $329,151.16; the money market having an ending balance of $448,740.14 and the CD having an ending balance of $133,077.96 with a total balance of all accounts at $910,969.26. Supervisor Sundet made a motion to approve, Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.
Treasurer Renner informed the board that effective January 1, 2024 sick/safe leave pay is required by law to be given to all employees that have worked at least 80 hours per year. Employees will earn 1 hour for every hour after 30 hours worked to be capped at 48 hours a year. This is for employees only, not elected officials.
Payment of bills: Supervisor Vareberg made the motion, Supervisor Sundet second, motion was carried.

Citizens Comments: We had none
Road Report: There was one complaint on SE Pickeral with rough spots. Mr. Gustner and Mr. Renner are working on graveling all the roads that are on the list. Supervisor Schram thanked Supervisor Sundet for getting the roads taken care of.
Old Business: ARPA report given by Deb Zachariason as to how much we have spent so far.
New Business: Mail boxes hit by snow plow was continued to next meeting. Technology and Election Resource grant was signed off by Supervisor Schram and Clerk, Dawn Utke. Road signs can be purchased through Grant Graham. He can get any sign that is needed. Snowplow turnarounds and guidelines will be continued to November 2nd, 2023 at 12:00pm. Mr. Carlson is in favor of providing an easement for snowplow turnaround and he would like a gate installed in replacement of allowing the easement. Zoom meetings, Treasurer Renner will obtain information from MAT. Budget will continue to the next meeting. County meeting update, EMT’s are losing a lot of money and they are concerned that eventually they will have to shut it down. Sheriff Glander reported a lot of break ins in the Becker County area. He also stated we were bringing Federal money in with housing some of their prisoners. Treasurer Renner provided copy of budget for this year and prospected budget for next year. Website update, Treasurer Renner and the comment section has been taken down due to him not being able to update it. It is working on getting it up and running.
Meeting ended at 7:43 p.m. with a continuation of meeting tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
