Regular Board Meeting Minutes

November 1st, 2022


Board Members Present:  Chairman Charles Chadbourne, Supervisor Gerald Schram and Supervisor

                                               Kyle Vareberg,

Officers Present:                 Clerk Dawn Utke, Treasurer Becky Renner and ARPA General Manager

                                               Deb Zachariason.

Others Present:                   Matt Arola and Dale Renner

Chairman Chuck Chadbourne called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  The agenda was reviewed by the board.  One item was added to the agenda—Fire Contract, Supervisor Vareberg motioned to approve the agenda and Supervisor Schram second, motion carried.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 

After reviewing minutes from the October 4th meeting, Supervisor Schram motioned to approve the minutes and Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.

Treasurer Renner gave the treasure’s report with the checking account having an October ending balance of $113,311.90, the money market having and ending balance of $514,862.92, the cd having an ending balance of $129,264.70 making a total ending balance of all accounts at $757,439.52.  Supervisor Schram motioned to approve the treasure’s report and Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.

Road Report:

Supervisor Chadbourne is going to check with Dan Gustner to see where he is at with 205th St and South Cotton Lake clean up and on road obstructions.

Mowing update—Supervisor Chadbourne stated we had good comments on his work.  He would like a thank you sent out.

Plowing contracts—it will be $40 per hour and $20 per day for being on call.

Old Business:

ARPA—Need to decide what size the building should be.  Looking at two different sizes.

Plow truck operators—both applicants were approved, Supervisor Chadbourne made Mike Johnson the primary, Matt Arola rescinded his plow operator application, Supervisor Chadbourne would like it in writing.  

Review contracts—tabled

Fire Contracts—they want $120,000.  Supervisor Chadbourne will continue to work with the fire department.

Supervisor Chadbourne has been working with State Disaster and they want copies of bills for storm cleanup.  Treasurer Renner will get another copy of the storm bills to Supervisor Chadbourne.  Supervisor Schram made a motion to see if Supervisor Chadbourne can get an extension to fill out disaster forms and Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.

New Business:

Supervisor Chadbourne made a motion to sell ice chest and wood burning stove and Supervisor Schram second, motion carried.

We are ready for November elections.

Citizen’s Comments:

Matt Arola was concerned why Supervisor Chadbourne continues to talk about him, Supervisor Chadbourne stated the public has a right to know.

Supervisor Schram made a motion to adjourn meeting and Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
