Regular Board Meeting Minutes

January 3rd, 2023


Board Members Present:  Chairman Chuck Chadbourne, Supervisor Gerald Schram and Supervisor

                                               Kyle Vareberg.

Officers Present:                 Clerk Dawn Utke, Treasurer Becky Renner, ARPA General Manager

                                               Deb Zachariason.

Others Present:                   Dale Renner and Dan Gustner

Chairman Chuck Chadbourne called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  The agenda was reviewed by the board.  Supervisor Chadbourne made a motion to approve, Supervisor Schram second, motion carried.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

After reviewing December 6th, 2022 meeting minutes Supervisor Schram made a motion to approve and Supervisor Chadbourne second, motion carried.

Treasurer, Renner gave the Treasure’s Report with the checking having a December ending balance of $77,177.66, the money market having an ending balance of $621,324.55 and the CD having an ending balance of $129,807.61 making a total ending balance of all accounts at $828,309.82.

Supervisor Schram motioned to approve Treasure’s Report, Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.

Payment of bills:  Supervisor Schram made the motion to approve, Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried. 

Road Report:

Supervisor Chadbourne made a motion to accept Terry Stiegel as the backup snow plow driver and Supervisor Schram second, motion carried.

There has been a snow plow route change due to the plow not being able to efficiently handle this portion of the road, Tom Graham will now take care of SW Pickeral Lake Lane.  There was also a concern brought up regarding Cottone Lake Beach Road, a tree had been cut down and grass was planted by John Foley and he was telling everyone no one could plow there.  Supervisor Vareberg was going to talk with him.  

Old Business:

ARPA—ARPA Manager brought some estimates regarding having a snow plow or paying someone else to plow.  More research was going to be done to find out how often they plowed, etc.  No decision has been made on ARPA funds.

Supervisor Vareberg was going to check with Detroit Lakes Township and see if they would be interested in a joint building.

Supervisor Schram checked with Fenske to see where Distribution of Refuse and Garbage Collection is to go, it need to be given to Lakes Corner Liquor.

New Business: None

Supervisor Chadbourne made a motion to adjourn, Supervisor Schram second, motion carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
