Erie Township
Regular Board Meeting Minutes
February 7th, 2023
Board Members Present: Chairman Charles Chadbourne, Supervisor Gerald Schram and Supervisor

Officers Present: Clerk Dawn Utke, Treasurer Becky Renner and ARPA General Manager

Others Present: Dale Renner, Dan Gustner, Aaron Aslesen, Art Kohler and Matt Arola
Chairman Chuck Chadbourne called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. The agenda was reviewed by the board. Supervisor Vareberg made the motion to approve, Supervisor Schram second and motion was carried.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
After reviewing January 3rd meeting minutes, Supervisor Schram made the motion to approve the minutes and Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.
Liquor License for Curley’s on Cotton Lake and Lakes Corner Liquor were brought forth, Supervisor Vareberg made the motion to approve, Supervisor Schram second and motion carried.
Treasurer, Becky Renner, gave the treasure’s report with the checking account having a January 2023 ending balance of $67,856.35’ the money market having an ending balance of $621,852.25 and the CD having an ending balance of $129,807.61 making a total ending balance of all accounts at $819,516.21.
Supervisor Vareberg motioned to approve treasure’s report, Supervisor Schram second, motion carried.
Treasurer Renner also reported that the Recycling check was brought back to Steve Skoog and he will be issuing a replacement check directly to Lakes Corner Liquors.
End of year reports have been completed.
Double payment to the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Treasurer Renner has asked Bremer Bank to refund payment.
Wild Rice Electric bill continues to go up, Treasurer Renner would like to increase the amount given to them. Supervisor Schram made a motion to allow the Treasurer to pay at her discretion and Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.
Payment of Bills:
Supervisor Schram made the motion to approve, Supervisor Vareberg second, motion carried.
Road Report:
Supervisor Schram had some concerns regarding sanding. He stated that the snowplow operator needs to sand both sides of the road.
Supervisor Chadbourne had the sheriff visit Mr. Bellefeuille regarding snow being pushed in the right of way of township plows.
Old Business:
ARPA—What 2022 Expenses can we put towards ARPA funds for the April Report that is due? Nothing was decided.
Compassion House is for sale.
Supervisor Schram made a motion to table the sale of the snowplows, Supervisor Vareberg second and motion carried.
2023/2024 Contract Quotes—Clerk Utke will post in the paper and on Erie Township website. Erie Township is requesting quotes for the following contracts: Blading, crack filling, road side mowing, right of way brushing, road stabilization, snow plowing and gravel. Bids need to be sealed. Miscellaneous work will be set by the board.
New Business:
Supervisor Schram made a motion to go with Proposal A for internet, Supervisor Vareberg second, motion was carried.
Fire Contract: no changes other than it looks like it is going to be expensive.
Board of Audit Meeting will be after the Regular Township meeting on Mach 7th 2023.
Reorganizational Meeting will be held March 21st, 2023/
Board of Appeals & Equalization Meeting is set for April 13th 2023 at 10:30 a.m.
Citizen’s Comments: There were none.
Supervisor Vareberg made a motion to adjourn meeting and Supervisor Schram second. Meeting was adjourned at 8:19 p.m.
